A Gift For Your Garden: Music by Handel, Telemann, Oswald, and Graun

Join us for a celebration of eighteenth-century horticultural gift-giving! Ensemble Hesperi‘s programme presents a cornucopia of music by Telemann and his gardening correspondents: a sonata from his Paris Quartets, a folky trio sonata, and two virtuosic solo fantasias, alongside trio sonatas by Handel and Graun. This wonderful music is framed by charming airs by Oswald depicting the plants Telemann loved best. This programme appears on Hesperi’s latest release with BIS Records, ‘A Gift for Your Garden’, which was selected as Record of the Week on BBC Radio 3’s Essential Classics.
