DESCRIPTION:The Anatomy of Melancholy: Songs to Uplift the Spirit\n \nJoin St Mary\, Wycliffe and Music in Country Churches for an evening of music to mark the 400th anniversary of the death of John Dowland\, one of Elizabethan England’s best-loved and enduring composers. \nFrancis Bamford (countertenor) and Byung-ook Kim (lute) will present a programme of songs about melancholy by Dowland and his contemporaries\, and how the music turns sorrow into joy to uplift the spirits of the listeners. \nThere are also tickets available (at an additional cost of £20) for a post-concert supper hosted at The Old Rectory. Places are limited and must be pre-booked.
